Alexa Y. - Dallas, TX
I always thought having a will was enough, but after hearing too many stories of families losing their homes in probate court, I knew I needed something stronger. EZ Trust Plan made it simple for me to set up a trust and protect my house for my kids. Now I sleep better at night knowing the courts won’t decide what happens to my home."
Morgan James- Houston, TX
"When my mom passed, we had no idea what probate even was. It was stressful and costly, and I promised myself I wouldn’t let that happen to my own kids. EZ Trust Plan gave me clear steps, the documents, and the confidence to take control of my family’s legacy. It feels good to finally break the cycle."
Lisa D., Oak Cliff, TX
"As a single mom, everything I do is about making sure my children are safe and provided for. Setting up a trust felt intimidating, but EZ Trust Plan explained it in plain language and showed me how to put everything in place. I feel empowered now, like I finally took control of my family’s future."
FAQ's
What is a Living Trust?
A Living Trust is a legal document that allows you to transfer your property, bank accounts, and other assets into a trust during your lifetime. It helps your family avoid probate, reduce delays, and smoothly pass assets to your chosen beneficiaries.
How is a Trust different from a Will?
A Will goes through probate court, which can be expensive and time-consuming. A Trust avoids probate, keeps your affairs private, and allows for faster and easier transfer of your assets to loved ones.
Do I need an Attorney?
You do not need an attorney to create a basic Trust. However, if you’d like professional legal eyes on your documents, we offer affordable add-on attorney review and group Q&A sessions.
Do I need to be rich to have a Trust?
Not at all. Trusts are for everyday people. Even a modest estate can be tied up in probate for months or years. A Trust makes sure what you do have goes directly to the people you love, without the courts getting in the way.
What if I don’t own a home?
You can still benefit from a Trust. Cars, bank accounts, retirement funds, and personal property can all be placed into your Trust. Avoiding probate isn’t just for homeowners — it saves your family time, money, and stress no matter the size of your estate.
Can I put my home in a Trust if it still has a mortgage?
Yes. You can transfer your mortgaged home into your Trust. The mortgage doesn’t disappear, and you still make payments as usual, but the home will be managed by the Trust. When you pass, your heirs can take ownership without going through probate.
What if my home is paid off (free and clear)?
If your home is free and clear, transferring it into your Trust is even simpler. This ensures your heirs avoid probate and can take title to the property without court involvement.
Can I put investment property or land into my Trust?
Yes. You can place rental properties, vacant land, or other real estate into your Trust. This ensures smooth management during your lifetime and efficient transfer to your heirs.
How does a Trust help restore the family unit?
A Trust can include instructions for family meetings, conflict resolution, charitable giving, and even rules for using family property together. This structure strengthens family ties and keeps everyone aligned.
What do I actually receive?
You’ll receive your Trust documents in digital form (PDF/Word). You can print, sign, and notarize them locally. These are not “kits” — they are full Trust agreements prepared for you to save you time and money.
Do you provide binders or in-person services?
No. We provide digital files only. This keeps costs low and makes it easy for you to store, share, and update your Trust securely.
How long does it take to complete?
Most people can finish their intake questionnaire in 20–30 minutes. Drafting and delivery are typically within 48 hours once you submit.
Can I update my Trust later?
Yes. Since this is a Living Trust, you can amend or revoke it during your lifetime. You will always have lifetime access to your files.
Is my information secure?
Yes. Your personal information and documents are stored using encrypted systems with limited access, keeping your family’s information safe.
What happens if I don’t set up a Trust?
Without a Trust, your family may face:
-
Probate Court Delays & Costs – Your estate will likely go through probate, which can take months or years and cost thousands of dollars in court fees, attorney’s fees, and administrative expenses. These costs come out of what you intended for your loved ones.
-
Loss of Privacy – Probate is a public process, which means your family’s affairs, assets, and disputes may become part of the public record.
-
Family Stress & Conflict – Without clear instructions in a Trust, family members are left to guess your intentions. This often leads to disagreements, fractured relationships, and unnecessary fighting in court.
-
Lack of Structure & Cohesion – A Trust can serve as a guide for family meetings, conflict resolution, and shared responsibility. Without it, there is no built-in framework to keep the family united or to pass down values alongside assets.
-
Risk to Generational Wealth – Probate and legal battles eat away at your estate. Instead of being preserved and multiplied, your wealth can be drained before it ever reaches your children or grandchildren.
In short, without a Trust your loved ones inherit problems, not just property. With a Trust, you give them clarity, stability, and protection — both financially and emotionally.
